In November 2018, the international symposium on peace education was held at the Grillhof Education Center in Innsbruck. 18 scholars and practitioners from the University of Cambridge, the George Mason University, the Colegiatura Colombians de Diseño, the Ruta N Corporation in Colombia, the University of Guadalajara and the University of Innsbruck participated and were able to move the project „Developing Territorial Peace with Schools in Colombia“ a big step forward.
During the symposium, the participants were able to co-facilitate a series of methods for conflict transformation and peace education in societies in transition, create an international consortium that is further developing the research project “Developing ‘Territorial Peace’ with Schools in Colombia”. Moreover, they discussed exploratory funding opportunities.
BritInn supported this symposium with a co-funding contribution. Read the final report from Josefina Echavarría, co-director of InnPeace, the new Research Center for Peace and Conflict, at the University of Innsbruck.
