Last week, Prof. Darren J. Dixon from the University of Oxford visited Prof. Thomas Magauer and his team from the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy at the University of Innsbruck.
Prof. Dixon discussed ongoing research projects at the Department of Chemistry and Pharmacy with Prof. Magauer and met with PhD students from the University of Innsbruck.
The visit included presentations by the two PhD students Franz-Lucas Haut and Christoph Habiger, as well as one presentation by Postdoc Denis Höfler. The presentations were followed by an intense discussion in order to identify potential solutions for recently encountered problems within the individual projects. Prof. Dixon also took time to give the students more information about the Higher Education System in the UK and discuss options for future research stays.
Moreover, Prof. Dixon gave a talk on "Catalytic Approaches for Simplifying Complex Natural Product and Tertiary Amine Synthesis".
After an intense day of scientific exchange, there was also time to enjoy the city and some Austrian food!
